GABU, born Gabriel Kagundu in Nairobi, is a Kenyan Artist, rapper, Singer, Songwriter and Performer. He is the Co-Founder of the music group P Unit (Kenya), as well as of Kompakt Records.
GABU grew up in Nairobi and also realized his passion for music at an early age. In 2004, he worked with Calif records on his debut single “PAULINA” which was used as the sound track for the premiere Dance Mania TV show.
He continued writing and composing music for several artists until 2005 when he met up Frasha and Bon’eye and together in 2006, the trio formed the group “P-UNIT” . As a band, P Unit had become one of the most prolific hip – hop bands in Africa having scooped two Channel O awards among many other industry awards.
Gabu has several solo projects, including “AM So DIRUNK” featuring Kristoff and Jalang’o; “EISH” , “WABE” Featuring Frasha, “NO SPINE” shot in Naigeria and “Here We Go - Magix Enga - Gabu - Kristoff - Prezzo” among others
Gabu, whos is the Cancer Ambassador for the Meru Hospice also mentors new musical talent and believes in giving back to society.
