Jhay Mayela, born March 12, 1989 in Brazzaville, Congo, is a variety artist and singer-songwriter.
Second in a family of four children, he began singing at a young age and for the first time in public with the Franco-Congolese artist Rido Bayonne at the Fespam (Pan-African Music Festival) in 2007.
Jhay Mayela then participates in the festival Congo Ndule Jazz, in Brazzaville, in 2009 and takes part in the Collectif des artistes on the tribute song to Jean-Serge Essous in 2010.
Also in 2010, he accompanied gospel singer Marcel Mboungou on the occasion of a mega concert at the Franco-Anselmi stadium in Pointe-Noire.
From 2011 to 2015, he accompanied several Congolese artists on stage and became the vocal lead vocalist of an interpretive group performing in several cabarets and piano-bars.
