Azeez Sanusi is a singer songwriter and a computer engineer born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. His sound is reflective of his earliest musical influences, afrobeat legends Fela Kuti and King Sunny Ade, whose music was the soundtrack of his youth. With a dash of Naija hip hop, American hip hop, and southern blues, Azeez also credits artists like 2Face, Tupac, and Muddy Waters with inspiring the eclectic sound on his first EP. A talented vocalist, Azeez has been writing songs and singing since he was a teenager in Lagos. He can’t remember a time when he didn’t have a tune in his head, or wasn’t jotting down song lyrics. Now residing in Portland, Oregon by way of Lafayette, Louisiana, Azeez’s sound is the result of a life full of challenges and unique experiences. It was while in college in Louisiana pursuing degrees in computer engineering, that his love of music became a passion and creative outlet.
